Located in the heart of the Santa Fe Arts District, Museo de las Americas is the premier Latin American art museum in the Rocky Mountain Region. Museo is dedicated to educating our community through collecting, preserving, interpreting, and exhibiting the diverse arts and cultures of the Americas, from ancient to contemporary, through innovative exhibitions and programming. Museo has served the Denver community for 26 years through award-winning exhibitions, arts education programming and special events.

Museo Maestras/os/xs are the educators who provide Museo’s cultural art workshops to students and adults all over the Denver Metro area. Maestras/os/xs have the opportunity to make a difference in their community by educating students about Latino Culture to help break down stereotypes and provide opportunities for mutual respect and understanding.

Job Title: Museo Maestra/o/x

(Contractual Position – flexible dates)

Maestras/os/xs of Museo work directly with Museo’s Education Director and Education Coordinator as well as teachers and students from all over Colorado. Maestras/os/xs implement Museo’s Educational Programming and Exhibition Tours. Maestra/o/x responsibilities include:

  • Implementation of Cultural Art Workshops
  • Providing current exhibition tours
  • Material set-up and clean-up
  • Open communication with Museo’s Education Director and Education Coordinator
  • Regular use of Google calendar and email for communication and scheduling

Successful Candidates will have:

  • Experience working with students from PS-12th grade
  • Experience and knowledge of Cultural Competences and Arts Integration
  • Background check approved
  • Hold a teaching license or pursuing a career in education
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred and will be given preference
  • Availability to facilitate at least 3 or more workshops/tours a month throughout the year
  • A passion for social justice issues
  • Works well without supervision
