Papel Picado Workshop

Artist Guadalupe Hernandez invites the community to learn about the tradition of Papel Picado: a traditional Mexican decorative craft made by cutting elaborate designs into sheets of tissue paper. All material provided, for ages 16 and up. Cost: $15 for members, $20 general public.

Ojo de Dios (God’s Eye) Weaving Class by Cal Duran

Cal Duran, one of the featured artists in our current exhibit "Espiritu Hermosx/Beautiful Spirit", will be teaching this weaving workshop. Ojo de Dios (oh-ho-day-DEE-ohs), “god’s eye,” are ritual objects made by indigenous groups in Mexico. Cost: $15 for members, $20 for non-members.
