How can I get to Museo? Transportation and Parking
By Car
- Coming from I-25 North you can take the 6th Avenue East exit and then turn left onto Santa Fe Drive (far left lane).
- Coming from I-25 South you take the 6th Avenue East exit and then turn left onto Santa Fe Drive (far left lane).
Parking
- There is limited street parking for 2 hours along Santa Fe Drive.
- You can find paid parking lots on 7th and Santa Fe at Su Teatro. There’s another paid lot at 9th and Galapagos.
- You can find parking on the streets in the surrounding neighborhood and walk from there, just note that these often have a 1 hour time limit and are subject to street sweeping restrictions during the months of April through November.
By Bus
The following bus lines have stops either on Santa Fe Drive or Kalamath Street within 2-3 blocks of the museum:
- Bus Route 1 (westbound) stops at Santa Fe and 8th
- Bus Route 1 (eastbound) stops at Kalamath and 9th
- Bus Route 9 (eastbound) stops at Kalamath and 9th
- Bus Route 9 (westbound) stops at Kalamath and 9th
By Light Rail
- Museo is 0.5 miles (10-15 minute walk) from the 10th and Osage Light Rail stop.
Where can buses drop the students?
Buses can drop the students off the entrance of Museo on 861 Santa Fe Dr. A staff member will receive the students at the door. After that, the bus will have to look for parking.
Do you offer parking?
Museo does not have public parking. There is street parking on Santa fe Dr and in the surrounding neighborhood.
Can we eat at Museo?
We have limited space for eating. Students can eat in our classroom. We do not provide a microwave or refrigerator. Student groups are also welcome to eat at the Sunken Gardens 3 blocks east of Museo at Denver West High School.
How much in advance do you require for setting up a tour or workshop at Museo?
We recommend reaching out to us at least 3 weeks in advance for in site programming and at least 4 weeks in advance for off-site programming.
How long are the workshops?
Our workshops are 1 hour long.
How long are the tours?
Our exhibitions tours are 1 hour long.
How much are the workshops?
We have a $120 flat fee for 15 or less participants and $8 for each additional.
How much are the tours?
We have a $90 flat fee for 15 or less participants and $6 for each additional.
Are activities offered in Spanish?
Yes we are bilingual, we offer activities in English and Spanish.
How Many Chaperones should we bring?
This depends on the group, but typical we see about 2-3 Adult Chaperones per 25-30 kids
Is Museo ADA Accessible?
Yes, Museo is ADA Accessible for individuals that require such accommodations.
Does the cost of the workshop include Museo admission?
Yes, with your workshop fees it includes the workshop and access to the Museo exhibitions.
Arriving at Museo
- Most of Museo’s staff is bilingual and can provide services in English and Spanish.
- Bathrooms and water fountains are available for the public in the back of the museum. Unfortunately we do not have a changing station in the bathrooms. We do have a wheelchair accessible stall in each bathroom.
