Summer Arts + Culture Camp
for kids ages 4-11
Summer Arts + Culture Camp: is a three-week program where 65 students ages 4-11 celebrate cultural & ethnic diversity and immerse themselves in a multidisciplinary, arts-integrated program that includes dance, theater, music, and visual arts to be able to explore the wonder and magic of this year’s country of focus, Cuba. The Museum’s Summer Art and Culture Camp for kids seeks to develop and build cultural competencies that contribute to their emotional, social, and behavioral well-being.
The camp’s curriculum relies heavily on the concept of embodied cognition, allowing students to take what they have learned and apply it to their personal lives. Through their time at the camp learning about a different culture and working on collaborative projects, we also desire for students to increase their sense of empathy for the diversity of others and gain social and emotional skills.
